Hi, I’m Tara—an RRCA Certified Running Coach, marathoner, and passionate advocate for ratio running (also known as the run/walk method). I help runners realize they’re capable of more than they think.
Running has completely changed my life, and I believe it can do the same for you—whether you're training for your first 5K or chasing a major marathon goal.
I’ve completed 20+ marathons, including all seven World Marathon Majors, and I proudly train and race using ratio running. I’m passionate about breaking the stigma around it—it’s not just for beginners. It’s a powerful, strategic approach that helps runners go farther, stay stronger, and actually enjoy the process.
I still use the same method that got me here—what I call ratio running. It’s the foundation of everything I coach because it works for runners at every level. You may not see it used by everyone, but it’s the number one thing people ask me about—and once they try it, they understand why.
I’m also proud to be part of Team TCS Teachers, a coach for Rising New York Road Runners—where I co-lead a run club for 5th grade students—and a member of the Selden Hills Warriors, a run group with a serious love for hills.
As a coach (and a 5th grade special education teacher), I bring patience, structure, and real-life understanding to every athlete I work with. I know what it’s like to juggle busy schedules, build confidence, and push through challenges—and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
